Is a laptop a must? if is's not desktop might be a better choice.

What is your budget?

That you mentioned what application you will helps us a lot to decide what gpu to take; Nvidia Quadro and AMD FirePro perform differently; in some amd is better in some Nvidia is better.

Quadro/firePro gpu are expensive due to extra support that is included within the package.

I will look what Matrix CAD prefers.

From what I see it uses SolidWorks meaning that you can even go for a gtx 670 or lower, or wait for GTX Titan LE (600-700$)

From what I read Nvidia is a better choice due to better drivers. I believe Quadro K2000 or K4000 are the gpu that will come in question. You also need to tell us how intensive work the gpu will produce.

One of the members recommend - ATI V4900 which costs 140$

How many monitors do you or will you use?

Spending 1500-2000$ might not be bad, depending what needs to be bought, but you have to tell us the size of the budget.

GTX 560Ti - Based on the example this build, within 500$, should do. If you are willing to add 100$ more then I suggest this build

I am glad I could help. Close the thread by picking the best solution so that other may see that your case is solved.

P.S: The price will remain the same if the V4900 is chosen; I don't know if I mentioned it.
