Need laptop for school, price range around $300-800 CAD

I need some help, I'm looking for a Laptop for school. I need it for Microsoft word, light video editing and well for surfing the web. I was looking at some lower cost laptops around $400 but they came with AMD processors and I don't know if they are any good as I have no experience with them.

What I am looking for is at least a 1TB HDD
8GB of ram
good battery life
and good sound quality

You are welcome . Both laptops have same disk drive though, the only difference is of memory which you can extend at purchase or later and the screen technology & resolution, dell has HD and Lenovo has Full HD. I think lenovo is a good option at this price level.
