need some help picking a video camera under $500

Hey there i need some help picking a decent video camera. I am currently making YouTube videos for my business (a custom car and truck shop). I am currently using a Go-pro hero 2 and hero 3 for most of my shots which is fine for the action shots i take but i need some more versatility and want a video camera that can do more than that of a go-pro. I don't know much about cameras and don't want to get sucked into market hype and somewhat false claims of what the camera can accomplish. Here are of a few of the things i'm looking for so if someone gives a recommendation they have more to go on. Most shots are done during the day though some are at dusk so i want it to be pretty decent when it comes to low light I need a camera that i can plug an external mic into i also want the camera to pick up the best possible color it can within my price range the reason for this is that alot of the things i'm filming are bright colored vehicles or deep whites and such and i don't want to spend to much time in post production fixing the color. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
