need some help with this

i have a Toshiba satellite L455 laptop and it wont power up ive removed the battery and used the charger plugged into the laptop and still wont power up not sure if my laptop is fried or charger/battery is fried need some help please.

does the charger smell like burnt plastic.

has this happened before or is this first time

it was the charger that was broken got a replacement for free
