*** I can't find anything much about the ThinkPad E560p..=(

If you won't be gaming, for programming, work and things like this the i7 is the best, 8GB RAm is plenty for work and it has the best storage, which means lots of movies, and the gtx 950 means that you can play games on 1080p on medium for about 40fps. It also has a ssd. For school, programming (i program too :), mostly python but Java and c/c++ too), movies and a bit of gaming.

For learning how to code I seriously recommend www.codcademy.com

Alright, so now its 1 vote e560p and 1 vote ideapad 700..
@Samer1970, actually I don't mind the cost, b'cuz the difference is just $50+++..
Oh ya, is the wireless card important..?? b'cuz two of it is intel 3165 and the other is intel 8260..

According to your uses this is how I would choose the laptop. (You can choose your priorities out of these and make your own accurate choice.)

CPU: IdeaPad with the i7 because programming is cpu intensive so you need the best one. You could maybe work with the i5-6300 in the ThinkPad E560P though as well.

Display: A good display would be great for watching vids and surfing so I would choose the IdeaPad since it has the largest display as well as a touchscreen I believe. The touchscreen part is up to you if you'll need it so if not, go for the ThinkPad E560P since it's just as large.

Memory: Depending on how much you will multitask (Ex. Surfing the web, while watching a video, AND also programming) I would go for the ThinkPads since they have 16GB. DDR3 vs DDR4 is not a very large and difference and you probably shouldn't worry about it.

Graphics: Since you'll just be programming and not really be doing graphics intense tasks, I would go for the IdeaPad. If you really don't care about the graphics power then the IdeaPad L460 will work as well.

Storage: I would go for the ThinkPad E560P if you don't need to do much storing. If you do then the IdeaPad would be second best since it gives you plenty of storage and still an ssd option for the few applications you want to be fast.

Battery: If you care about the battery then go for the IdeaPads

Wireless: I'm not so sure on this option, they will all work and so I don't think it's a big issue. 4.1 isn't that much a big deal either so go for the ThinkPad E560P or IdeaPad

Overall Choice IMO: IdeaPad 700
Very Close Second: ThinkPad E560P

Go for the ThinkPad L460 if it really matches your requirements and your fine with it. Maybe it also looks better then the others. Don't forget to consider how the build quality is on the laptops and the other aspects besides performance.

Hope I helped and wasn't too unclear :)

@MrYo531, so your overall choice is the IdeaPad 700 right..??? Hmmm let's say, if all three systems were I7 processor, would you still pick the IdeaPad 700..??

@Samer1970, yes the IdeaPad line of laptops could not be compared with the Thinkpads, but the E560p I'm picking belongs to the edge series which is a lower end thinkpads for small business and does not have Mil specs standards like the rest of the higher end Thinkpads.. And so, I'm thinking the e560p and ideapad might somehow be on par with one another.

no you are Mistaken , the E Thinkpad are still better than the IdeaPads .. Avoid Ideapads at all costs . I would never pick one again , I did once and I regret it . their keyboard are VERY BAD . and they are fragile.

True Thinkpads are not all the same , and not all are MIL specs , but they are better than ANY Ideapad .

Edit : can you tell me why you only have to choose from those three ? and where are you planning to buy from and what is your max budget ?

I see..=) Hmmm b'cuz I really like Lenovo and Apple's Mac is too expensive for me..
I'm ordering it directly from their website b'cuz there's a promo gg on and my budget would be around $1500. So, overall you would pick the E560p..?? The only issue is that I can't find any reviews for the e560p laptop and I'm afraid it might be a bad choice to pick that..:pfff:

That's true, b'cuz for that pricing it's really worth it, here's the full specs I found on the Lenovo SG site.
http://shopap.lenovo.com/sg/en/laptops/thinkpad/edge-series/

And, I think this E560p is only available in certain countries, US is still not available yet.

Lenovo dont release the same products in all countries .. and not even the same specs .. you will find the same notebook and different specs in two countries .

your notebook iss good for the price , it has ssd , ips monitor which is very important in note books , tn monitors are bad in notebooks
and it has gtx 960 thats crazy awsome , you can turn it off and use onboard if you want more battery on the road too,

and it has strong cpu , i dont like low voltage ones

and it is thinkpad

enjoy it.

Oh ya, is it a good choice to upgrade to UHD..?? its a additional $250-$300 though... Do u think its worth it..??
