Mission Briefing: Alright, here we go. My father is looking for a laptop that he can complete all his work on at home (Microsoft Office related). He would like a laptop that he can bring around anywhere with him in a bag to do work on the go. It must fit requirements below, but can bend some as he's still not 100% sure on what he wants, or the budget, so it will stay at $800. Now, the local store is having a sale, and he's considering this system (http
/www.msi.com/product/nb/CR61_2M.html#hero-specification). Keep in mind, this is available for <$700 on special, and can be used as a baseline to compare recommendations.
Approximate Purchase Date: This month.
Budget Range: I would say under $800 Australian dollars (including all costs, shipping etc.)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Surfing the internet, using general Microsoft office programs, that's about it (both need to be done).
Are you buying a monitor: No
Do you need to buy OS: Yes (would prefer included in price)
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: If possible, anything in Australia, but world wide will work as I'm looking for suggestions as to what can be done within the budget, so long as it's $800 or less, not going over at all.
Parts Preferences: Reputable brand if possible, Intel and NVIDIA.
Feature's wanted: If possible, optical drive, back lit keyboard, above 13", running Windows, light weight (too an extent), decent sized hard drive, and around 4~ USB ports.
Why it's being purchased: Need something to do work on, at home. This involves use of word documents, spread sheets etc. There's no current system available to use, so it's not replacing a pre-existing one.
If I missed anything, please call it out, all help is appreciated!
