Need Urgent Help! HP Laptop Not working properly

Hey there guys, I've been browsing the forums for a while now, and let me just say, this is one awesome community.

On to the problem: my HP laptop isn't functioning properly when it runs on it's battery. It either gets the blue screen or the GPU card crashes and sends me this message: "Your Graphics Display has stopped responding and has recovered". When it runs when plugged into an outlet it runs perfectly.
I don't know what the problem is, but I really don't have the money to buy a new battery. Please help me!

collect the money and replace the battery.... pay the extra for the extra cell battery that HP offers... Do NOT get it off ePay (ebay)

Also look up how to SAFELY drain and refresh and laptop battery, it MIGHT give it back some oomph.

If it is the battery, most likely the laptop will completely power off. You are saying it is giving you a BSOD or an error.

Before all, make certain that all of your drivers are up to date. Don't just use the HP site. Look up what your GPU is and go to the manufacturer's site to get the latest drivers. Make sure the BIOS is up to date. Make sure all your windows updates are up to date. If it still is crashing, then try:

If you have Windows (XP/Vista/7/8?) I would start with the power options. Go to control panel - hardware and sound - power options - change power saving settings - change plan settings (doesn't matter what plan it is on) - change advanced power settings -

Here you might see "Intel Graphics settings" if you have an internal Intel GPU, I'm not sure what AMD says but I believe it is ATI or Radeon. Find something similar -

Click "on battery" when you click it 3 options should drop down

Max battery life
Balanced
Max Performance

Try each of them and see if one works. If not, play around with the Processor management settings or any others in the same menu before you rule out the battery. These settings will not hurt your laptop, besides you can always click "reset to default" if you are uncomfortable with any changes or it starts to act in a way you don't want it to.

But, you say it is running "perfect" with the charger plugged in? Are you able to at least update the drivers, Windows updates, BIOS, GPU BIOS, etc. with it plugged in? Have you tried to enter safe mode on battery?

No, it updates when it's plugged in. Yes, it works absolutely perfect when it's plugged in. It only messes up when it runs on it's battery, also, I haven't tried entering Windows in safe mode. I'll give that a try.

Actually I did try that. Lemme see a bit later if it improves anything.

Same Problem here my laptop display driver stop working for a minute and after that same message appear on my screen it because of your windows problem re install your system windows and your problem will be solve if you face same problem again then you need to contact with your laptop "Gateway Support" team member for solving your problem.

You can try to reinstall everything. But, if don't want to do that or if you did reinstall everything and it still doesn't work on battery, read this. There are a few ways to test the battery.
