Hi,

So I'm currently trying to help my friend buy new headphones, but their requirements are high:

Needs to block out all noise
Needs to have excellent sound quality
Must not have batteries
Not too bulky
Not beats
Less than 500 United States Dollars

Any input/advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)

hey nuclear. if $500 is your ceiling I'd recommend a beyerdynamic model or perhaps sennheiser. senns actually has a pair with active noise cancelling. this will give the best noise cancelling

beyerdynamic DT 880 (these are semi-open but amazing when paired with a decent amp)

beyerdynamic mmx 300 (gaming version w/ mic, passive noise cancelling)

sennheiser pxc 450 (active noise canceling though a bit bulky)

best of luck with your decision :)

If they are willing to go with earbuds i would say a pair of shure 535's. I went from a pair of shure e3's from back in 2003 to multiple pairs of skullcandy Full Metal Jacket's over the years to a pair of shure 535 japan SE reds this year and absolutly love them.
