Needing help picking a laptop

Hi there,

I'm looking to buy a laptop for university. In my degree I use software such as maya, abode cc, nuke and autocad, and I really need a powerhouse that can handle me using these programs at the same. However, I'm clueless right now to what sort of specifications I'd need for a laptop. My max budge is around £1500. Can anyone help? Thanks!

System requirements for the software listed include 8GBs of RAM (preferably more with Maya) and a dedicated Quadro GPU (Maya and Nuke). None of the software studios mentions a quad-core CPU (and most Adobe software will run on a dual-core), but a quad-core machine is more likely to come with a Quadro-grade GPU than a dual-core (GTX 940MX at best).

RAM can be expanded down the road, and it comes with a 2K resolution screen. At 2.8kg it is a bit heavy, but we are talking about professional-grade workstations, not stylish head-turners. Storage is a 1TB HDD, and you could consider adding an SSD later on.

Between the quad-core CPU, the 2K screen, and the Quadro GPU don't expect amazing battery life.
