I purchased a Netgear G54 Wireless router and a Netgear N 150 Wireless Adapter.
I downloaded the proper software and it simply does not work. The wireless router seems to work fine as I can use it while on the internet. But when I hook up the adapter is simply does not work. I tried using the instructions and followed them to a tee.
It claims click setup which I did. Then hit agree to accept the license agreement then Next. A message displays asking me to wait for the software to be installed. This might take a few minutes. Then I am prompted to insert the adapter. There is a cable that comes with this setup. I tried both using the cable and also inserting the adapter into the computer.
The light comes on for the adapter but does not stay on.
I feel that this computer and old one that I purchased in 2002 may be too old for this system. I do not believe that it has a WPS ( WiFi Protected Set up).
It’s a Gateway Model 300 SE. Any help would be appreciated.
