New Acer ASpire 8753G battery not detected?

We just bought a new battery for our Acer Aspire 8753G Laptop from what now seems to be a questionable website. When we came to use it, it is saying Battery not detected. On closer inspection the battery delivered is 11.1v and our old battery is 14.8v. I am trying to contact the vendour, but have had no responce. Can anyone please help, maybe there is a way of still using this battery ( although it is a lot lighter and the casing is softer)...thanks for any help

Well, 11.1V is 25% less than it should be and will never work! All you can do is try to return it for a full refund...
