Okay so I got this new ASUS Memo pad and in the manual it says I should charge it for 8 hours before useing it in battery mode does that mean I scan plug it in to the wall and use it while it charges or is it just best to let it charge for 8 hours first and then use it

You should plug it in to fully charge the battery without turning it on, even plugged into the wall. The battery needs full voltage juice the first time charging without interruption. That is, if you want to maximize the performance and life out of the battery. Same for cell phones as well.

As the product is new, it needs to charged fully, switch it off, and keep it charging for as many hours as it is said
