New Build - Final Q's. GPU too long? PSU overkill?

Finally (after about 10 posts on here), I'm finally going to be building my new desktop this weekend.

Heading to pick the parts up on Friday, but in my double-checking, I think I've come across an issue.

Motherboard: MSI A88XM GAMING $144.99
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K $92.99
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw X $124.99
HDD(s): WD Black. 1TB $94.99
CD/DVD: Some Samsung thing $21.99
SSD: Already owned. Samsung EVO.
OS: Windows 7 HP $124.99

Question #1 relates to the GPU & Case...
GPU: Radeon R9 280 3GB $209.99
Case: Silverstone Red Line $59.99

The case description states 7 expansion slots, up to 11.5 inches. By my research, the GPU is 11.7 inches. Does this present a huge issue? Is there any way around it? Or do I need to rethink either the case or the GPU?

Question #2 relates to the PSU
PSU: Corsair CX750 Modular $94.99

Unless I'm mistaken, the GPU is what will be drawing the most power. The description for the GPU states a 750W PSU is required.....but it seems overkill to me. Any thoughts?

Otherwise, general thoughts on the build? Anything I'm missing? (Total cost is now pretty much $1,000 - started at $600-$700! Oops!)

Hi,

If the GPU is longer than the case, you're going to have some problems. That is something that must be fixed.
A 750 watt PSU is overkill for one GPU. You should be looking around 600-650 watts if you have no intention to crossfire down the road.

What is your budget? I feel like I can give you better components for the price of your build.

I'd appreciate any assistance. Budget would ideally be around the $750-800 CAD mark, but willing to stretch (as you'll see in the parts I listed). Oh, and I'll need to add WIFI.

Preferred vendor would be Memory Express (they'll price-beat Canadian retailers or etailers)

To be honest, as ridiculous as it sounds, the build is pretty much built around playing Football Manager 2011* (Game debate spec & rating) and really just benchmarked against Game-Debate's 1-10 scoring for the game, based on CPU / GPU & RAM.

*and likely future versions in the same series, along with general use - browsing/streaming etc.

For exactly 1K, you can get a much better CPU, an upgraded GPU and a better PSU.

Here is my revised build. It isn't as powerful as my first build, but it's cheaper. All of the parts can be found at MemoryExpress, so the true price you will pay is lower than the figure quoted.

Built #2 definitely looks like the one I'll go for.

Do you have any suggestions for a wireless card? I see Wifi/Bluetooth isn't included on the board....
