New formatted memory card says "Full"

I have a Nikon D200 and I just formatted a brand new card in camera, and it still says "full". I tried another card and it says the same thing. I can't find any information about this online.
 
Solution
I have a feeling that card in simply not compatible with the old D200..
try using one of compatible memory cards below, hopefully that might work out :)
The Nikon Quality Department has tested the following cards and approved their use in the D200 Digital SLR:
