new gtx970 with old mobo

Hello guys

Just a random thought

my old system has a DH61ww mobo and an i5 2400 with a 600w PSU

I kow it has a pcie 2.0 slot and putting a 3.0 on a 2.0 makes little to no difference and mostly my CPU wont bottleneck The graphic card.The case can accomodate it

So will it work or have i answered my own question?
