New laptop engineering student

I will be studying engineering this fall and would like to buy a new laptop. I'm having a lot of trouble finding one and I was wondering which laptop do you recommend. My max price would be around 1000. I was looking at the lenovo y50 which seemed nice however I'm still unsure and would like some advice. Thanks in advance!!!

the y50 is a good choice imo. Good overall around computer

and what about the lenovo yoga 2 with i7 processor 8gb ram 500gb SSHD + 16gb SSD? Would the intel hd graphics 4400 be enough?

the intel hd graphics 4400 would be weak for what you do. i wouldnt recommend it.
