Hey all,
Background:
Toshiba Satellite P70-A Series FHD (1920x1080) 17.3 Inch WideScreen
Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 Graphics Card
Problem:
A while ago my screen cracked. I bought a new one and installed it and found it wouldn't go beyond the back-light starting up.
However, I messed around and put in the old, cracked screen and gave it power. While it was still on, I disconnected the video connector and plugged it into the new screen while the power was still on. And bam, the new screen worked.
However, I tried to turn off the laptop with the new screen connected and turn it back on and I ran into the same problem. It wouldn't go beyond the back-light starting up.
So the only way to use the new screen is to start it up with the old screen connected and then subsequently connect the new screen.
I'm thinking of returning the new screen but I'm wondering if there's a solution anyone here might have.
