New lenovo laptop/color banding & blocking

recently bought lenovo g50-45 and color appears bad. looks like 16 bit color even though its set to 32.
banding and blocking in video playback on youtube and images seem to load slow and blocky as well.

tried updating drivers but it still looks the same
it runs on an apu. a8-6140 with r5 graphics


any help?

just hooked the laptop up to an external monitor and it appears fine on the monitor. could the laptop screen be defective?

Ended up getting a refund. Seems a common problem according to customer reviews.
