Given how thin and light the Macbook is even the Macbook Pro. The Macbook Air branding now seems redundant.
I do love how Apple considers a $1,000, oops $999, laptop "low cost". When one can pick up an Acer Swift 3 for about $600. Which is thin, light, good battery, 1920x1080 IPS screen, Coffee Lake i5, 8GB RAM, 250GB SSD. Even $600 is not a cheap laptop. Anyways it is thicker and heavier but not outrageous. It also has a cheaper quality case. The Acer Swift 3 is what the Macbook should be. The current designated Macbook should have the Macbook Air label. The Macbook Pro models should be thicker and heavier to allow for upgradeable SSD/RAM, better cooling, larger battery, better GPU options and 4K displays. You know model Pros who need workstation power.
