New modem now no internet access

i have installed a new modem which is working, my tab 3 is showing that it is getting strong signal but is stuck on obtaining ip address, any ideas please, do i need to change the setting on it to the new modem name etc

Or it means they are providing bad credentials - same happened with my tab and my wifes cell phone after I recently changed up some settings on the router.

Verify that the settings in the router configs match the settings you're trying to use on the tablet > ensure your tablet is using the correct security type/password/and AP name - "Linksys AB-2009392" or whatever the routers broadcast ID is.

yes you have to delete the old setting in the tab and to re-enter them with the new modem (the old one and the new one may have the same SSID but they dont have the same mac address)
