I am tired of my old 2 channel speakers so i think its time to buy new speakers, now the problem is i am very confused either i want 5.1 or 7.1 speakers. My soundcard (X-Fi XtremeGamer) does support 7.1 channel but i guess buying 7.1 channel speakers will just increase already huge wire clutter and installing 4 or 5 sattelites on wall and routing wires for them is a bit too much. My big question is that will there be a huge audio quality difference between 2 setups? I regularly watch HD movies on my PC but my main concern is gaming. I am currently looking on two following speakers:
Creative Inspire 7900 (7.1):

& Logitech X-540 5.1:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/home_pc_speakers ... n=features

And who do you personally think is better in making good speakers, logitech or creative or someone else. I have heard good things about logitech but i am using a creative card already.
Please comment.

The Creatives are far superior. At least you get tweeters with your front two satellites. As far as Logitech, the only speakers I would call "good" are the Z-10 and Z-Cinema.
