when you're choosing the phone # to send to, PRE-pend *67 to the phone
number? (disabling caller ID?)

Instead of sending it from your Sprint PCS handset to another, you could
send it from a computer at http://messaging.sprintpcs.com and leave the
"Callback number" field blank. On the receipient's handset, the message
says it's from "Unknown".

If it's to a non-Sprint handset, other providers have similar websites.

Frank,

You could also use software like NotePager Pro
http://www.notepage.net/notepagerpro.htm to send the message.
Best of luck

The SMS system at Sprint PCS *will* send your phone number along with
the message. Period. It's in the system, not your phone.
