Hi everyone,

I'm looking to get some real good 2.1 speakers for my room just to hook up to my laptop and play music mostly - I'm a music fanatic - trance, house, drum and bass..you name it.

I want a simple 2.1 system - but a really powerful one. I did all my research and finally set on the klipsch promedia 2.1 - suppose to be amazing sound quality and just what I was looking for. Trouble is I can only find them for sale in the US and I'm not prepared to pay postage and income tax.

FYI these are the klipsch promedia 2.1 - http://www.klipsch.com/promedia-2-1-computer-speakers

So my question is - what is the closest I can get to these in the UK? These are perfect 🙁

It has to be at least 200 watts, and yes I do understand watt output is only significant if its efficient and not turned into heat :)

Other systems i considered were this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-SRS-DB500-2-1-channel-multimedia/dp/tech-data/B002PBIEEG

I don't really want Logitech and my budget is £150 max

Thanks in advance

You may want to consider something like those on the link below. Though the size may thow you off compared to Promedia 2.1 but the reward is gratifying.

I have the M-Audio BX5A Deluxe that I connected that I sometimes use with a sub and it is was perfect for my need right now. I also have a big system I hardly use anymore because the sound quality that the BX5a produce is sufficient without turning the volume high enough.

Go for a Bose Companion 5. Bose sound really makes a difference. It will make your Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 turn pale in shame.
