Next lens for 20D?

I am hoping to find some recommendations from those who have experience with
the Canon glass and the 20D. I shoot primarily landscapes and nature-a lot
of time lapse water stuff, birds, forest textures. I bought the kit with the
oft debated 18-55 kit lense and have picked up a 75-300 IS zoom.

Right now, I am torn between acquiring a better piece of wide angle glass or
a macro.

Thanks for the advice.

I already had a macro so my choice was almost exactly as yours. I got
the 11-22mm super wide zoom. About the only thing I have left now is a
really long fast IS lens for wildlife.

10-22 wide angle. Or, wait a little, and see if the Tamron 11-18 or the
Tokina 12-24 are any good. But the Canon wide is a nice lens.

I shoot ice skating during the season, landscapes and candid portraits
from time to time. Started with the Canon 17-85, got a Sigma 70-200 with
1.4 extender for more intimate indoor skating rink shots. I would get
the 10-22 wide angle right now if it were $500 but the price is putting
me off. I guess eventually I will buy it.

When I want to shoot birds and other wildlife, a 400 or so is in the
future too.

If you are *reasonably* satisfied with the wide-angle performance of your
kit lens then I would recommend the 100mm f2.8 macro. While not an L lens
it is of L quality and will allow you to take photos that you can't take
with your existing glass.

I have a 10-22 F/3.5-4.5 USM (a 24-70 F/2.8 L USM and 70-200 F/4 L
USM).
The 10-22 is surprisingly good optically for an ultra wide angle, sharp
clear,
just a touch of CA, light, smooth, fast focusing,... It is built as
well as my
70-200 F/4. As much as I wanted to look down because its not a 24-70, I
simply can't, the performance of this lens has won over my heart.

I second the positive remarks on the 100mm Macro.
