Ok, so I just upgraded from a Geforce 8600 GTS SLI graphics setup to a shiny new GTX 580. The GTX 580 works great except my computers speakers no longer function. There is no sound whatsoever, and on the speaker icon there is a red "x" with the message "No Audio Output Device is Installed. I have a Bose Companion 2 speaker setup. I know 100% that they are plugged in correctly since they worked just fine before the GTX 580 upgrade.

What can I do to get my audio system working again?

Thanks

Solution
you check whichever audio was installed:
click start, control panel, add remove programs, look at the list...
which audio software is shown on the list? delete it, restart the computer.

now visit the motherboard manufacturer or computer manufacturer's website
download the latest audio drivers, save on the desktop...
turn the antivirus off,
if you have multiple security programs installed, turn them all off
(your driver may not install if security systems are turned on)
now load your new audio driver, restart, turn the antivirus back on.

the new Gtx 580 drivers must of uninstalled the RealTek drivers or something.. never happened before we'll see with the next line of drivers coming out soon. If it happens again ill know what to do. =)
