no boot device press any key to reboot

I have a black screen and it tells me no boot device and to press any key to reboot. But when I press any key, it tries to reboot and then goes back to the same black screen. What do I need to do? I have a dell computer and I just got it for Christmas.

What type of computer? Model?

It is possible you dont have a OS or it is corrupted. I would ensure you have a HDD in the laptop.

I would check to make sure that the HDD is plugged into the motherboard

Does the drive show up in the info tab of you bios and does it show in the Boot Device list?

Go into your bios, locate the sata configuration press enter and set it to AHCI mode
Go to the boot tab and set your hard drive to the first boot device (using the - or + keys)

I think, if it's new, there is a warranty for it. So just bring it to a service center. Problem can be with your HDD.
