Solved! No bootable devices on laptop

no bootable devices strike f1 to retry boot, or f2 for setup utility. can anyone help me? i just bput a new hd and when i install it that is themessage i get. i tried to boot from the cd so i can in os but i always get the samae message. i ran dianostics all functions are in working order, it does say media test failure, check cable, but how do i get the message to clear and install my os? i even tried entering the old hard drive back, and still get the no bootable device message? can anyone help?

hm...
weird try going into bios and checking the boot order and hard disk settings and post your settings so i can see if anything is wrong.
