No display after installing new ram

I just got ram that I bought off of the crucial website after they scaned my computer for what I could use. I ended up getting 4 sticks of 4gb unbuffered 1.35V 1600 ddr3. I installed it and now my screen wont display anything. It is very frustrating please help!

Go back to the old RAM and see if it works? C0mputer may not be able to support 16 GB RAM depending on its age (and whether you're running 32 (x86) or 64 bit (x64).

It might be the 1600 MHz part......looks like it came standard with 2x 1333 MHz and that;s likely the maximum allowed.

That being said, I would assume you'd simply be throttled to 1333 MHz, but perhaps that would be the cause of your no post.

Try 1x old RAM & 1x new (as a test, not permanently). See if it posts & what RAM is showing in your BIOS / OS.

i will try doing one of each and see if it boots. I called asus and they said it takes 1333 Mhz of the 1.5V ram. However both crucial and best buy told me to get the unbuffered 1.35V ram. Just A side note I have 4 sticks of 1333Mhz 1.5 gb ram that I tried and the same thing happend. I have a 64 bit opperating system and it is supposed to support 16gb of ram.

Do you have 2xslots accessed from underneath & 2xslots underneath the keyboard?

I'm sure I've read on this forum before of similar issues that only the 2 slots accessed from underneath the laptop seem to work?

Thats correct, I can get the two underneath the laptop to work just fine but as soon as I put a stick in the easy access one under the keyboard the screen wont display.

You've tested each of the 4 sticks of RAM in the working slots underneath?

yea the slots on the bottom work fine for the new ram and the old. Ive tested them all and as soon as i add one stick to the under the keyboard slots the screen goes black.
