Solved! no line out audio

I have Sony STR DH770 receiver which does not have any audio line out except for the headphones jack in the front. I would like to connect wireless headphones for my hard of hearing father but I would like to keep speakers output active so I can listen too. So I can not use the headphones jack because it turns speakers off. Can I use passive HDMI splitter to split the HDMI out signal and then use one HDMI out to connect to a monitor and the other HDMI out to connect to a HDMI to RCI converter and then to a headphones transmitter? I am afraid it is too complicated to work. Any suggestions?

Did you try bluetooth headphones? Your receiver supports BT 3.0

A passive splitter doesn't work on HDMI.
You could use an HDMI-ARC audio extractor to connect a transmitter to the TV. Something like this

MIGHT work. Not sure it would allow video from the AVR to get to the TV.
