Howdy,

I recently swapped out my HDD for an SSD in my laptop. I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, and have one major problem. I am unable to change the brightness of the display with the function keys. My laptop is an HP 355 G2.

I have installed graphics drivers, however this doesn't seem to help. There is no option to adjust the brightness in power plans or anywhere else.

I have installed Windows 7 Ult on two other desktop computers without a hitch. Does the fact that I'm on a laptop make any sort of difference?

Thanks

You are missing drivers for those keys. Go the HP website and go to support and then software and drivers. There you should be able to enter the model of your laptop and search through all of the needed drivers. There you should be able to find the correct driver for your keyboard.

You may also want to search through Device manager in windows to see if you are missing any other dirvers.

Done. No progress. BIOS was also updated a few weeks ago

Check under utilities too, I have an older HP laptop that needs a "hotkey" application in order for those keys to work. It's odd, and my other machines do it in hardware....but HP is...HP.

My volume hotkeys and wifi/wireless radios hotkeys work. It is only the brightness function. I cannot access it via the control panel, power settings, or my brigjtness hot keys.
