No power - MSI Laptp

I'm working on an MSI laptop - a little over a year old. When plugged in, the battery light illuminates. But when you press the power button, the battery light goes out and then comes back on and the system won't come on. Is this a motherboard issue? I've checked the AC Adapter and have the correct voltage.

No. I get no lights or any power.

Did you check the DC jack, you have to open the laptop and verify the voltage at the jack, just to be sure the power is supply by the adapter.

I did as you suggested, by checking the voltage at the jack connector inside and it's getting power to the connector. Now....since I've had it plugged in over night, the battery light has gone out completely and I'm getting no lights at all. I take it, that the battery may be charged, which distinguishes the battery light when fully charged?

I'm pretty sure it is, I just can't find it on the label....it's too worn.
