No screen with a new gpu on Clevo P150HM

Hello!
So i've been using my laptop for 5 years now and recently i started having problems with it.Eventually it just died off, didnt even boot up anymore. I sent it to diagnostics and got an answer that my gpu (gtx485m) has fried. So i bought exact new one along with thermal paste. Got the gpu before the paste, tried to assemble it to make sure it works, but got no picture. Keyboard wasn't even working until i tried to reset the memory by removing some of my ram wich resolved that issue. But the display still remains black. Could it be that without the thermal paste and heatsinks it wont show it? Or am i facing faulty motherboard here? Happy to answer additional questions. Any response is greatly appreciated.

I sincerely hope you didn't destroy the replacement GPU by running it without a heatsink.

Well that is obviously what i'm hoping here as well, but can you maybe be more specific like how easy is to destroy it without running it with heatsinks and thermal paste? I ran it like that for just a couple of minutes.

Also wouldn't my laptop even turn on after its fried? That's how it behaved when i had my old gpu in there.
