no sound card windows XP

Had to reinstall windows Xp....now i have no sound....also dvd player not working....can anyone help please..Alan.

It sounds like you need to reinstall the drivers for everything. All the hardware in your computer requires software to work, these are called drivers. Look your PC up by model number and go to that manufacture website and download all your drivers. Everything should be up and working then.
