So i just got a new headset which buzzes.. and i know its a grounding issue.. but the frustrating part is i can't for the life of me find out why my old headset did not have this issue how could it remove that noise?

Hi.
First thing to try would be to MUTE all line in, inputs, then unmute one by one, or try using rear ports vs front ports etc this will help decide if the problem is with soundcard, motherboard output ports or case phone jack
More info could be helpful, which headset? which case? which mobo? (for headphone jack location etc)
On one build not too long ago I got terrible buzzing on my Sennheiser headphones from a ROG front bay, but were perfectly silent from the rear headphone jack. and like you I knew the problem was grounding or EMI but couldnt get it quiet enough.

I tried the inputs and muted them all, it was none of those.
I'm on a laptop so no ports on the back.
The headset that has the noise is Creative EP-660
The headset that broke but did not have the noise Creative EP-630i <-- and why did this not have the noise?
The location of the audio jacks is away from everything acutally. the only thing near it is my touchpad.

If i touch the metal on my laptop the noise is gone. but if i touch my mousepad the noise is still there.

I would bet that if you got a compatible 3 pin cable for the charger, that noise would disapear.
The third pin in a plug is for grounding 😉
I thought it was a interference noise from other electrical components, but now I believe its from the 2 pin charge cable.
Would be nice if someone else could add their feelings about this though :)

Sorry.. i read what you wrote wrong.. i thought we talked about the rings on the headset cable.. my bad.

Ofc the problem will be fixed with a 3 pin power cord but why did my old headset not have the noise? i just don't get why this headset has this annoying noise when my old did not. i haven't changed ANYTHING other then the headsets.
