Norton 360 and PC Performance

I've used Norton for years but this year's Norton 360 edition is using ALL of my computer's resources. The CPU would constantly run at 100% and the computer would be unusable. I uninstalled Norton using the Removal Tool and I cleaned the registry. Now my computer is running normally at 3% CPU while using Chrome. I don't know what to do. I've paid for a year but it's not worth it if I can't use my computer. Has anyone had this issue before?

Dell Studio 1558
Windows 7 64-bit

Intel Core I3

I use Norton Internet Security and not Norton 360 and have not had the problem you are reporting. Right now CPU usage hits around 14% but that is with Adobe Premiere CS6 analyzing a clip with an effect applied. In all fairness though I am using an i7 with 16GB of RAM.

I have read that the issue may be solved with a fresh install of 360: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/ccsvchst-exe-using-cpu-99-to-100/td-p/613114 (the problem cited here is related to Norton Internet Security).
