NOT BOOTING AT ALL

Hello,
my name is Justice Oliver, i have ibm thinkpad R50e, recently i pluged in the adapter cable to charge the laptop, to my surprise all dat came out was smock from the inside within the charging port area. As a result my system dosnt charge any more and my batery is turend to zero , its no longer booting @ all.. Please some one should help me, am a student and i need it some much now for my project.. Please what is likely to be the problem.. This is my mail

That's bad, man... I feel for ya. Take it to a repair shop...

If you are worried about your files, you may want to check if the hard disk drive is unharmed, by putting it into a 2.5'' USB external enclosure and join it to another computer. I think it has an IDE hard drive, not SATA, so you'll need an IDE enclosure (but check it before you buy anything).

But in the repair shop, they'll check it for you too, I'm sure.
