Hello,

I have a notebook Asus K53SV and I updated the bios but will not start. Not even the LED lights indicating that AC power is connected.

Do you guys know that can happen?

Hello,

I formatted because I had a lot of trash. I needed chipset drivers, LAN, VGA, etc. and got into the official website of asus. I saw that there was a BIOS version higher than the notebook had installed. I had installed the 308 and download and install version 320.

http://www.asus.es/Notebooks/Versatile_Performance/K53SV/ # download

OS: Windows 7 64bit.

Now it does absolutely nothing. No no LED lights, fan, screen .... nothing.

The notebook has 1 year and 4 months.

hello,

Where I can find those holes?

I have two years warranty. If I touch something would lose? Is not modify the bios if you maintain the warranty?

Thanks

Check your computer manual or just look around on the laptop; it might not have a reset hole too.

Have you tried unplugging the battery and power cord for about 5 minutes and then trying to power on too?

You're warranty will be fine, Asus repairs computers\motherboards that has bios failures. Never update a BIOS\UEFI unless there is some reason you have too. Anyways though, if the following does not work, contacting Asus will take care of your problems in a snap since you're under warranty. It will probably take about a week for them to fix and ship it back to you if you bricked it with the BIOS update.

Power problems with AC adapter
Step1 :

Please remove the battery first to verify the AC adapter's problem
Step2 :

Please check the power outlet on the wall by plug another device to the outlet
Step3 :

Please plug the adapter directly to the power outlet on the wall
Step4 :

Please make sure both the wires between the adapter to the wall and to the notebook are well plugged and the LED on the adapter is alight
Step5 :

Please check the power status indicator to make sure whether the notebook is powered on
Step6 :

Please make sure whether the CPU fan perform the testing run when the power is switched on
Step7 :

Please stick into the hardware reset button at the bottom of the machine and reboot
Step8 :

Please remove all of the removable hardware (exp. mouse, PCMCIA card, power adapter, battery, external drives, memory and etc) and install only the necessary components.
Step9 :

Please remove the AC adapter and re-install the battery
Step10 :

Please make sure whether the CPU fan perform the testing run when the power is switched on
Step11 :

If possible, please change another battery to make sure whether it's the battery's problem
Step12 :

Please check the power status indicator to make sure whether the notebook is powered on

Hello,

Thanks for your help.

The notebook has no reset hole.

Tomorrow I'll get back to asus. Would you say it was to update the bios? Or just tell them not to turn on?

sorry for my bad English. I'm not native English speaking.

thanks

No problem, you're speaking clear enough.

When you contact ASUS tell them you updated the BIOS and it will not turn on now, let them know everything you did.

Best of luck!
