Nvidia control Panel Not responding

I just recently installed the latest drivers for my Nvidia Gtx 275 (266.58), and now whenever i try to use my Nvidia control panel to try and change settings, it only loads up the outside of the control panel (the drop down file menu and the x button), and says its not responding
ive been looking around for any sort of fixes but no one seems to have the same problem
Ive also reininstalled the drivers several times, but nothing changes
Has anyone dealt with this or have any ideas how to fix this?

ive also now gone directly to my nvidia folder, and started the nvidia control panel setup, but in the middle of the installation it says
"Setup failed to read the required display driver to be used with this package"

actually dont worry guys i solved it myself
i just uninstalled the drivers, wiped them with driver cleaner pro and then installed a slightly older driver, and it seems to work
