this gpu comes with the xps 15 im considering getting. I looked at some reviews of this card, but really understand nothing of the technical comparisons between similar cards.

will this card play most games at least on medium? thanks for your input.

Try note book check (dot) net to compare video card power. Keep in mind the power of your video card to run games also depends on your CPU. An i7 laptop won't need as much vid card power as Pentium or A6 to get the same frames per second.

Having said that..a better rule on gaming on a laptop...if you must is... pay as much as you possibly can for the lappy...

I agree with spending as much as you can. I bought my wife's laptop a year ago and it still is quite a beast today. For around 1400 I got an i7 2630QM, 8gb ram, geforce 560m with a 1080p screen and usb 3.0. Thanks to consoles holding back our games, you can get quite a bit for your money with laptops nowadays.

Of course it has less than 3 hours battery life.. but hey, that's what she wanted.
