All else equal, which 1 is better?

EDIT: it's also about the 2 GB versus the 4 GB, all the benchmark sites I checked didn't use the memory size into account (I believe it's called VRAM, but I'm not sure about that)

On a laptop and with the strength of both those GPUs, I don't see any need for more than 2 GB. Read this and I think you'll agree

BTW, I would suggest having the laptop built to your specifications.... store bought lappies inevitably have compromises and are loaded with bloatware and often malware (google lenovo superfish for one example)

The GTX 860m is better.

Not only is AMD failing to compete at the same tier as Nvidia in the laptop/mobile market, but the 860m is actually a tier above the M265X.

There's no comparison. The 860m is by far the better card.

The AMD has GDDR5 and the NVIDIA has DDR3L. Therefore, I believe Jack and Tanner are incorrect

What you need to pay attention to is bandwidth. While bandwidth expectations will vary depending on a graphics card's price and performance tier, always remember this: GDDR5 memory provides twice the bandwidth of DDR3 at the same clock rate. Since memory bandwidth is a significant performance bottleneck, choosing GDDR5 is a no-brainer.
Just remember this: when it comes to graphics cards, 1 GB of GDDR5 is infinitely preferable to 4 GB of DDR3.
