[citation][nom]chomlee[/nom]Once they allow competetors to operate along the same cable lines or get a wireless solution which is comparible to cable and can be provided by various providers, you will see more and more people jumping ship to the big Comcasts and ATTs out there.[/citation]

I meant jump ship away from the big companies.

+1 speed2001 and other,

Nothing is Obama's fault really: it's previous government and industries that scrap the economy and are getting middle class people in trouble.

He's doing all he can with what mess he's in right now.

Give him a few more years and things will get better

[citation][nom]Theonlydz[/nom]They will never limit bandwidth... That's a stupid assumption. They would lose their entire customer base. The consumer also has the power... if I don't like what my ISP is doing I'll cancel... even if i have to go without internet.[/citation]

People do not feel they can live without internet, if there is no other choice they will put up with it. Look how many people went along with cellular companies shady contracts because they felt they needed the cell phone. Several companies are already instituting download caps, which limits the need for bandwidth. You don't really need a 100Mbps connection when all it does is blow through your cap in a few hours.

[citation][nom]Theonlydz[/nom]You spent way too much time writing all this... and he DID create a lot of the problems he has now... he made really poor bail out decisions... and no the republicans don't just "salivate" over every republican in office... If you haven't noticed, No one liked Bush... they didn't salivate over him... and everyone loves bill clinton... so GET over it... If a president does a good job, he gets credit for it... whether he is republican or democratic.[/citation]

They liked him enough to vote for him a second time, even though he was already failing in the first term. I don't remember anyone trying to impeach him either as the country nosedived into recession.

Sure are a lot of O'Reilly fans on today. Acadia states fact and gets voted down. You can't explain that.

[citation][nom]singemagique[/nom]How can we expect one man to make shit from shit. Saying he has done nothing but damage this country is quite myopic. Let's not forget about the Bush era tax cuts, the overstretched military, and the bursting housing bubble that all existed when Obama came into office. I for one would never wish that sort of job on anyone. In all honesty, we can't depend on one person to solve all of our problems. As a society we need to change the way we think and live if we really want to change the environment in which we live. Imagine how much money in medical costs we could save if everyone took responsibility for their bodies and exercised.[/citation]

Yeah and it's gotten worse under Obama. So what's your point? People elect a prez to fix problems not make them worse.

It's apparent, from a lot of these posts, that a lot of people still get their news from FOX. A non-bias look at Obama's performance would reveal that he is not as bad as people think. How long should it take a recession to recover? How much could he get done without the filibustering? How much better would this country be if we let pro-business representatives into our congress and White House? Is the fate of the economy on one man or Congress? Obama is not perfect and he is not the greatest president ever. He may even be out of his league when it comes to politics, but I believe he truly cares about the People more than his campaign contributions. Save the environment (check) regulate Wall street and banks so this disaster won't happen again (check) focus on the poor and middle class vs big business (check) not murdering the crazies in congress (check) etc..... He does have a lot of good qualities and for the most part, you can count on him to put the People before his wallet. Did he not forfeit his presidential salary? He will veto this bill because it's right, and he knows it. That's the kind of president we have. Mistakes and all, he is one of the more moral and People-focused presidents we've had in a long while (if you're a Clinton or Reagan fan, research what they've done to mess this country up; take a close look at NAFTA in the Clinton administration) .

Wow, I don't know what is worse. A political discussion between conservatives and liberals or a tech discusion on Android vs Apple.

[citation][nom]enkichild[/nom]Obama did this before. Remember his view on marijuana before he was elected into office? Remember how it then suddenly changed?Go ahead, vote for Obama again, and watch his opinion change.[/citation]
That happens to every single US President. Can you say "Read my lips, no new taxes."? There is simply a lack of information to a Presidential candidate that becomes learned when they enter office. It's not an Obama thing, it's an American thing. You are clearly biased and therefore should be ignored.

[citation][nom]nicodemus_mm[/nom]"petulantly?"Mr. Lincoln, with this one word you lost all credibility and I as well as others stopped reading regardless of what may have followed.I don't read articles posing as news from unabashedly biased political hacks no matter which side of the isle they stand. In the future please preface the title with "Opinion", "Useless", or another such term that properly identifies your inability to present news in somewhat neutral fashion. Failure to do so just wastes our time. Perhaps Tom's main page could just list the initials of the author beside the title so we don't even have to waste a click on the less restrained, unprofessional writers. How disappointing...[/citation]

So by inductive reasoning you think all "news" shows should preface their segments with "Opinion, Useless, or another such term" right? I think this is a bit unreasonable, because the article and those news channels provide information. Readers and watchers just have to be intelligent enough to filter out the opinions of the writer/channel and understand the actual content. This is not a new thing.

Obama has done a great job since he's been in office. He ended bushes idiotic Iraq war, and taking the right measures with Afghanistan. If it wasn't for Obama this country would have exploded.

He's a great guy, and he just got another +1 with this veto imo.

I'm a military man (And generally the military is GOP heavy). Well taking a look at what he's done with no bias, objectivly looking at what he has and hasn't done, it's clear to me that Obama is a step in the right direction. Hopefully after his 2nd term we'll get someone as good or better.

Airborne!

hey elbert the Obama was sworn in jan 20 2009 unemployment rate was 7.6
1.25 trillion deficit, what left leaning loon country do you live in it is 13.8 trillion
President Barack Obama proposed his 2011 budget during February 2010. He has indicated that jobs, health care, clean energy, education, and infrastructure will be priorities. Total requested spending is $3.83 trillion and the federal deficit is forecast to be $1.56 trillion in 2010 and $1.27 trillion in 2011. Total debt is budgeted to increase from $11.9 trillion in FY2009, to $13.8 trillion in FY2010, and $15.1 trillion in FY2011

You can spin your lies however you want but the facts disagree with you, but you already know that don't you.

AMEN!

And imagine how many jobs could be created if people just got their arses off Wall Street, put their heads together and reinvented the American Dream instead of whining and exploiting their First Amendment rights.

The Internet should be FREE of politicians.

With that said, the only kind of net regulation that most people I believe would agree on
is on child porn, they should put them down.

Anything else should be free of any governmental action.
(unless of course it involves national security)
But even that could be interpreted by some morons as is "OK to invade our privacy, just in case".

IS NOT OK.

[citation][nom]Xatos[/nom]This guy has done nothing but damage to this country, so it sure seems a little odd that he'd take a decent position on something right before election.[/citation]
The US Gov't is proof that "money is power".... Under law, it's illegal to buy or sell another human being. Unfortunately, there is no law against buying votes....which is exactly what special interest groups do. They buy the politicians' votes. Senators are very rarely ever actually concerned with what is best for the country. They vote based on what special interest group lines their pockets the best.

Both arguments seem to go the same way....

1 group spouts opinions, rumors and mis-information
1 group spouts opinions, rumors and facts
1 group spouts completely unrelated shit....
