Odd problem when unlocking fourth core

Hi all,

Recently had some issues with the Unlock CPU Core function on the Asrock N68c-s mobo. Seems to have fixed now; however now something stranger is happening.

When I managed to boot the computer once again, I inserted different ram (2gb Crucial DDR3) to my usual set-up and bios had detected my AMD Athlon II X3 455 3.3GHZ processor as a Phenom II X4, booted into windows absolutely fine.

Then, when I put in my own ram (Corsair Vengeance 4gbx2 cmz8gx3m2a1600c9) it runs through until the 'Starting Windows' screen when it will then BSOD on me. This screen shows an error 'Page Fault in Non-Paged area'. I've tried loading a boot disc in the DVD drive but black screen (not blank) and dvd drive eventually stops.

However, if I now disable the Unlock CPU Core function on the mobo, it boots into Windows just fine! I've updated the BIOS to 1.6 and manually set the voltage and timing on the RAM (one stick at a time), but alas, cannot unlock the extra core.

Is this down to a bad core/incompatibility with RAM? Just strikes me as odd that I can use the extra core on one RAM, but no on the other.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.
