I have an online photo album which I have built for my family and
friends and I would like to place a link next to images so that the
viewer could order the picture through an online photo service like
Ofoto, Snapfish, etc.

Does anyone know of a photo printing site that offers this type of
service?

Thanks in advance!

You did it backwards...but all is not lost.

If you had gone to www.dotphoto.com you would be able to going and set it up
as a website and people could order from it. Of course you would only have a
limited choice of how it looks.

You might try pulling up each photo from what ever printer you choose and
make a link from that...should work if no password is needed.

Exactly as if he had gone to shutterfly, ofoto, etc. All the sites that
subsist on money from prints want to lock you into *their* prints, so
they encourage you to host with them. Shutterfly has a "c4p (click for
prints)" service that lets you let others order prints from images on
your own site, but they're deemphasizing it and emphasizing hosting with
them.

The PHP app "Gallery" has example code to use Shutterfly's c4p, so you
can figure out how it works. I adapted it on this example page:

I think there are a lot of us who want to host our own photos but buy
prints through an online service. Unfortunately, nobody seems to want
our business, though Shutterfly grudgingly takes it.

http://ourdoings.com/ Easily organize and disseminate news and
photos for your family or group.

Many photo print labs have accounts for their clients to display 'proof' on
and when orders for prints are made via the site, the photographer's account
is credited with the price they (the photographer) decide is appropriete. I
had Gallery on my server for a while and got a programmer to alter the code
so I got an e-mail order when someone wanted a print. It worked well enought
too. Of course if you want a 'free' solution, it might be adifferent thing
altogether.
