Can I use my old Sony DVD player with TCLP605? What is ARC?

ARC means "Audio Return Channel" - a way for a receiver to get back audio from a TV. Both ends must support it.

As for "Can I use" - first, define how you intend to use it, and second, what is the exact model of that Sony?

I would like to use it with my new TCL smart P605 tv. Sony model #BDP-S350. If not what would I need? Thank you

Yor BD/DVD player manual, Page 12, Connector #9 is HDMI
Your TV manual, Page 6, Connectors D/E are HDMI
All you need is off-the-shelf HDMI cable, long enough, to connect both. On the TV, select proper HDMI input.

Of course - you'll need a movie to play, there's always Redbox/Netflix for that. You might also connect your BD/DVD to your home Internet, to play some interactive BD titles.
