Old HDD data to New HDD

So here's my story.

I have a netbook Acer that I used quite a lot back in the day until it decided to blue-screen whenever I would turn it on. I've got a new laptop since and now I would like to get my personal things off my old netbook.

How would I go about this?

If you're comfortable with a bit of disassembly, you can remove the hard drive from the old netbook. Gadgets such as this:

http/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232002

can be used to connect the hard drive to a USB port on the new lappy, where it wil then show up as an external drive.

Sorry I have a desk top. My mistake. I just need to know how much larger hard drive I can put in. Some one said not over 750 GB. This is an Acer T690 Thank you for your time
