Question Old text messages not showing up on new android phone

The SIM is not memory. There is no such thing as a SMS card. There are memory cards (SD) that some phones use. These are not synonymous.

Ok so back to not being able to long press on the lock screen. Any idea why I am not able to do that? i have restarted the phone, am able to long press on home screen and move around icons.

There is no results for that. Is this something that is only available with android 15? Newest phone has android 14 while previous phone has android 15. On previous phone, there is a setting called customize lock screen, new phone does not have that.

Not sure when new phone will be updated to android 15.

Got it updated to android 15 and now have that option to customize lock screen. Had to go through several security patches before was able to update to android 15. BTW, on android 14, searching for keypress came up empty.

So far everything seems to be good. Got all his texts transferred using sms backup and restore. All his contacts and pics are there.

Now to do this all over again when I get my new phone lol. Kind of set on the moto stylus g 2025 but part of me wants something like the google pixel 9 or something that gets more updates, mainly for security. Pretty big difference between 2 years for moto phones and 7 years on phones like the google pixel 9. I do realize will generally pay more for a phone that gets 7 years of updates. I do tend to keep my phone a while, not upgrade every few years.

Thanks. Think I got his phone setup the way he wants it. Still may have to do some fine tuning. But so far everything seems good. Service seems to be working.

One thing I learned from this is I am never buying a phone from amazon again. Think I would have a better experience buying one from ebay lol although never have and don't plan on it.
