Older Samsung DVD to Newer Panasonic TV connection problem

I've recently bought a Panasonic TV -TX40CX700B.
But connection to a elderly Samsung DVD -SH853M via HMLI gives Vision but No Sound . Connection via SCART gives Sound but no Vision !
Using a very old simple DVD player (SCART only) works perfectly .
All used to work fine on my old Samsung TV

The main Audio options available on the Samsung SH are Bitstream or PCB.
I’ve tried both options - Same problem on both !

It may be an HDMI version issue, I have had an older TV that would give me sound but no video over HDMI to a DVD player.

I've tried a totally up to date HMLI cable , ARC compliant . Same problem . Replaced the two old units with modern dual tuners . Works fine !

Not the cable version, the ports on the hardware is where the issue would be.
