They should add 😀 to the dictionary, it has so much meaning like:
In a multiplayer game, A player is getting owned but smiles in attempt to hide his embarrassment
In a text, you send the text with a smiley face, something important here.

They are acronyms, but there adding them to the dictionary anyway like they did with RSVP and SWALK, shows you how far stupidity goes up the intelligence bracket if people who are supposed to be standardising the English language start adding acronyms to the foray.
will seriously lulz when they add things like roflcoptergoesschwaschwaschwa. think they need to make a new dictionary. cool face can be its logo.
This doesn't surprise me. I encountered this for the first time over 10 years ago when I heard someone shout out "LOL!" (instead of actually laughing) at a Counter-Strike LAN party. At the time we thought it was silly and made fun of it; but I guess it was inevitable.

Problem is that they don't want to become irrelevant (like all the encyclopedias are with Wiki around). If the English dictionary is missing entries for language used in the majority of digital conversations then that dictionary is irrelevant.
Although I don't really understand the heart; its not even composed of letters.
