on board audio and sound cards

hi, i'm getting the Asrock x79 Extreme11 motherboard and i want 7.1 surround sound for my Razer Tiamat 7.1. my play was to get a 7.1 sound card but why wast the money on a motherboard with good on board audio and then get a sound card. so not to wast the on board audio i was wondering if i could configure it so i used both audio processors (from the sound card and on board audio) to get extremely good 7.1 surround sound audio. thanks

no.

you either will use the onboard audio or the slot soundcard not both.

for somthing like the razer tiamat you are probably fine with the onboard sound. the tiamat is a rather low end which does not get very good marks as far as audio quality is concerned so you likely wouldnt notice the difference anyways.
