On board Audio Not working

Hi everyone I have a mobo that uses VIA HD audio. The mobo is a Gigabyte 78lmt usb3 on Windows 8.1. Basically my on board audio doesn't work. I have installed the latest drivers from the website. There's no audio playing through any of the heapdhone jacks; front case and back mobo ones.

My monitors speakers run through my gpu hdmi audio so that is a diff story.

On playback devices I enable it (The VIA HD) and set it to default and it shows the bar moving (meaning it detects the audio). However no audio comes through the headphones. Lastly, the VIA audio software also detects when I plug something to the headphone jack of the PC. Thank you for the help.

I think your problem is you have different audio sources and don't have the correct ones selected.

For the regular 3.5mm analog output you need:

1) onboard enabled in motherboard BIOS

2) VIA HD software installed, and

3) "Playback Devices" set to the VIA HD solution

*If you have audio working on your monitor speakers (you aren't clear on that) then you have "Playback Devices" set to NVidia HDMI which would then disable your onboard VIA solution.

You can't have the VIA HD and NVidia HDMI working at the same time.

If your monitor has a headphone output to pass the audio through from the HDMI then use that. If not, I suggest sticking with the onboard VIA HD solution and get regular 3.5mm stereo speakers for the rear, GREEN output and use the front audio output for headphones.

Audio is working on the monitor speakers with nvidia hdmi. However, I disable the NV HDMI on playback devices and set my VIA to default device. Still no audio from the headphone jacks. However, I haunt tried number one. I will go into bios and get back at you, thank you.

I have the same problem! Please someone solve this as it's annoying the hell outta me! >u<
